GRANDEE'S BIRTHDAY & OLD TOWN SAN DIEGO

We celebrated Grandee's 80th birthday (woo hoo!!) on Saturday. Tammy and her girls came to see Em and ended up coming this weekend so that was fun! We all went to Old Town San Diego to have some lunch and walk around. It is so cool there! The main thing we wanted to see was the Mormon Battalion building but they also had a whole are with original buildings from ions ago. :) The original school house is still there in it's original location and they moved some other buildings over so they'd all be next to each other. It was fun to walk around and see everything. The Mormon Battalion was pretty cool! You walk from room to room (on a guided tour) and they tell the story of when the Pioneers were asked to join the US battalion and fight. It's a pretty cool story! They also have a spot where you can have your picture taken and they give it to you (for free!). I also emailed it to myself so I could add it to the blog. The whole Old Town area was pretty cool and I'd totally recommend going!
After that we went to my Aunt & Uncle's in Oceanside for some cake and ice cream. It was super yummy and fun to hang out with everyone.

Grandee got her picture drawn for her birthday...

Em chilled in her stroller. She was so good!

Well's Fargo with an old wagon...

Lexi & Cali had fun riding in the strollers next to each other...

All of my Mom's grandkids (plus Maegan) in the wagon...

The Mormon Battalion

There was a cannon in front...

Maegan was our volunteer to try on all the accessories they wore...
(the rifle was taller than her!)

another cannon inside...

Aedan loved this! It was like a big iPad game. Haha.

After the tour we got to pan for gold, pump water and "make" bricks. The kids loved it!
