Brookhurst Park

This was my favorite park when I was a kid! I took the kids there today to show them and it was an interesting experience. I have such fond memories there and when I got there it was kind of run down and most of the play stuff was gone. It also seemed really small. I know I was much smaller then but man... this park seemed so HUGE when I was a kid! It was an awesome park so I'm kind of bummed that it hasn't been kept up better.

The kids ran around and had fun for a little while, went on the swings and then it was time for naps so we came home. I took a TON of pictures.

Lately Aedan has been bringing me flowers anytime he sees them. So sweet! So, I got quite a few of them while we were there. Cali even started bringing them to me. :)

Toddler Time

We went to Toddler Time at the Library yesterday morning and it was pretty cute. They read a few books with some songs in between. One thing they did was the "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" book but to a song. They passed out animals to everyone and when their animal was said, they stood up and held it in the air. It was pretty fun and both my kids love that book so they thought it was pretty cool. Aedan got the red bird and Cali got the fish.

Cali got a little cranky at the end so I held her while Aedan sang to The Wheels on the Bus and a few other songs. I'm so excited about all these summer activities!!

Girly Girl

Cali has been totally into jewelry lately so anytime she sees some laying around she puts it on. She likes to put it on and then take it off and repeat that a bunch of times. Last week she found Maegan's jewelry and yesterday morning she found mine.

Perfect HOT day fun!

The kids had a great time at the park on Friday! It was super HOT outside so this was a great solution since this park had a water pad. We met Amy and Hailey which made it really fun. At first Aedan was a little hesitant about the water but it didn't take him long to get totally soaked. Cali didn't want to get wet for a while but eventually she did. The kids went back and forth from the water to the playground. Aedan's shorts got so wet they were falling off of him so I took his clothes off and let him run around in his undies which made Cali want her clothes off too. I'm glad they had so much fun!
