FATHER'S DAY

We are a huge fan of the Daddy in our family! Geoff is such a fantastic Dad and we hope we showed him this year how much we love and appreciate him. :)
We started off with breakfast in bed. I made a coffee cake from scratch (and I must say it was pretty good!) with some eggs and bacon. I made sure to get grapefruit juice for him (yuck!) because I know he loves the stuff. The kids were pretty excited about Father's Day. They were a big help picking out some presents. We made a "we love Daddy because" picture collage that I got off of Pinterest so the kids gave him that. I went a little over board with presents this year because I wasn't able to do much for his birthday. He got some casual clothes and some ties and dress pants.
For dinner he said he wanted chicken enchiladas so I made that and we had some red velvet cupcakes for dessert. It was fun spending the day spoiling him a little. :)

Everyone (well, except me) had new outfits on for church so here they all are! Aedan took his vest off after like 5 minutes at church. Oh well. :)

hot stuff! :)

GO TEAM JASON!

Our friend Jason has Cystic Fibrosis. His health has taken a bad turn and he now needs a lung transplant in order to survive. We really love him and his wife Geri so when we heard that a few friends were throwing a fundraiser together to earn money to help them out we made sure we were there. They had a bbq, some cotton candy, popcorn, sno-cones, face painting, a raffle and a silent auction all to raise money for Jason. I was amazed at all the businesses who donated gift cards and stuff for the raffle. It was a fun evening spent with friends. We bid on a few things in the silent auction just for fun and the kids loved the goodies and face painting.
If you want to find out more about Jason (or perhaps donate since it truly is a good cause) go to www.goteamjason.com and check it out.

SAYING GOODBYE

On Thursday Aedan's preschool had a picnic at the park to celebrate and say goodbye. There were games and lots of stuff for lunch. Aedan ran around with his friends. He'll only be going to school with 2 of his friends since he got into the Dual Immersion program (pretty much... he'll learn everything in English AND Spanish) and only 2 of his friends are in it with him. So, it was kinda sad to say goodbye to his little friends but he's very excited that he'll see 2 of his friends in Kindergarten.

Had to take a pic of Em in her jeggings...

Cali wanted to be in a picture too...

It was so bright he needed his sunglasses...

Geoff & Em

I wanted to take a picture with Aedan and his 2 favorite friends but between their silliness and my camera it was almost impossible. Still... these are pretty cute. :) Here is Aedan with Caleb and Gabriel. Gabriel will be going to Kindergarten with Aedan.

NIGHT OUT WITH MOM

Geoff had some work stuff Wednesday night so I took the kids out shopping. We got a strawberry lemonade slushy type of thing to share (YUM!) and then hit a few stores. In Old Navy they had one of those wooden things you stick your face through. Aedan & Cali wanted to try it. I just had my iPhone with me but I still snapped a few pictures. Then we stopped at Krispy Kreme to grab a few donuts. The employee gave them some hats and they thought that was super cool. :) It was pretty fun and the kids were worn out when we got home!

THE END

of preschool that is! I can't believe the school year is over and Aedan is going to be a Kindergartner! He had an excellent year in preschool and his teachers say is such a good kid, and really smart too. He has loved school!! So often he would come home singing songs he'd learned as well as stories and other things. He made so many friends too. We are so proud of our little guy. He's growing way too fast!

I made some teacher gifts for his 3 teachers. I'm new to this whole idea so I didn't know what to give them. I turned to my new trusty friend Pinterest and got a few cute, clever ideas...

These cute little owls say "Owl miss you". I was so proud of my uncrafty self because I actually cut out these owls without a pattern, just a picture from online! I thought they turned out pretty cute. :)

These little tags say "Thank you for quenching my thirst for knowledge" and the bottles have some crystal light packets in them.

These say "Thanks for making me one smart cookie" and Geoff made some cookies to go in the little bags while I was doing all the other stuff.

I got some small re-usable bags to put them in and that's it! It was a bit of work to put it all together and I was up late.

His preschool had a little graduation for all the kids. Each teacher talked for a few minutes, then the kids sang 2 songs and then they all had their name called to come get their diploma. It was so cute! Aedan sang the songs and did the little movements with a big smile! I admit, I got a little emotional. :) It was so fun. One of his friends passed out candy lei's to all the classmates (Cali got one too which was nice). I took as many pictures as I could and I'm glad I did because half of them came out blurry. I really miss my Nikon!
Here is our cute little graduate...

Do you see him? Front row, toward the middle...

(camera was too SLOW to get the hats being thrown. grrr!)

Aedan with his diploma...

After he took a picture with his diploma he kept removing things. First his hat, then his vest, then his lei. We left before it got any worse. Haha.

They had a few posters up around the room... a 2012 where they had all signed their names, a congrats one, and another 2012 one.

Cali got in on one...

After the ceremony we all went home to change and then took Aedan to lunch to celebrate! He chose Red Robin. Em got all cute for the occasion so I had to get some pictures of her. The kids had fun coloring at Red Robin while Em slept the whole time. It was a fun day and we're so glad it's summer!!

Oh my... that smile gets me every time! I LOVE it!!

This is what I get when I try to take a picture of or with Geoff...

So then I give him "the look" which makes him laugh but then he smiles for me...
