MINNIE PARTY!
Yesterday was Aedan & Cali's friend Makenzie's birthday so they went to her Minnie Mouse birthday party. They had a great time! They had some great ideas for parties for little people with short attention spans. They wrote with chalk on the side walk, squirted each other with water guns and ran around on the grass. I didn't get a ton of pictures but I made sure to get some with their Minnie ears on. :)
I'm not sure what she's doing in this picture but I think her face is funny (very serious) and she's missing a shoe. I'm not sure how that happened but we did find the shoe. :)
Cali was sitting in the stroller waiting to go and started putting on Aedan's shoes. It was pretty silly...

DRESS UP
We watched Aedan & Cali's friend Grace on Friday night and the kids had a great time! One thing that they did was play dress up. Aedan wanted to play too so I let him dress up with the girls. I know, it's weird to have a boy dress up in Princess outfits but he's only 4 for now I'll let him. Plus, I can show his girlfriends when he get older. :) I need to get him some outfits for him (Peter Pan, superman, a prince, ect).
They pretty much took the same 3 outfits and switched them around...

CALI SWIMMING ALL BY HERSELF!
Whenever we've gone swimming this summer Cali has either sat on the stairs or clung to me. We went to swim with my friends and the kids friends and after I put their floaties on Cali got right in and started swimming around all by herself! She didn't have a care in the world and was so excited for herself. I was also pretty excited. Her and Aedan swam all over and had a great time with their friends. So did I. :)

BONFIRE!
We were invited to go to the beach for a bonfire with a big group of friends! We had hot dogs with lots of sides and lots of stuff to roast (s'mores, starbursts, sour patch kids, ect). It was super yummy and fun to get together with friends! There were a bunch of other kids there too so it was fun for Aedan too. Cali mostly snuggled under the blanket because she was cold. :) Aedan had a hard time with the smoke/fire burning his eyes but other than that he LOVED it!!
Geoff roasted us some hot dogs and they were yummy! He likes to make goofy faces when I take his picture. Usually I make him re-take it but some silly faces are ok. :)
Aedan snuggled under the blanket for a bit and Cali saw him and wanted to snuggle with him. It was pretty cute. It's crazy that their two little bums fit in one chair. :) (Aedan is trying so hard to say cheese and smile but his eyes are burning from the smoke. What a good sport!)
So, Aedan has 2 adult bffs which I think is kind of hilarious. My cousin Troy is Aedan's buddy who he talks about a lot (trust me the feeling is mutual too which is adorable!) and ever since we had our friends Jason & Geri over for dinner recently, Jason has been Aedan's other bff (I hope Geri is ok with that. haha). On the way to the bonfire Aedan said "Is Jason going to be there?" and when I said he was he got very excited. Jason seems to think Aedan is pretty cool too. He called Aedan over to help him roast a marshmallow...
The kids got sleepy and that combined with the cold made them hop in Geoff's chair with him to snuggle. I thought it was pretty cute. We left soon after that cuz it was almost 10 and we didn't want to keep them out in the cold any longer.

BLACK WHITE & HOT PINK
Three colors that make a totally cute dress for a totally cute girl! I put ribbons in her hair that were those 3 colors too. :)
And of course, she had to twirl like a princess (always the 1st thing she does when I put a dress on her).

PIONEER DAY PICNIC
We went to a Pioneer Day Picnic (church activity) which was super fun. We made some seriously delicious potato salad (Geoff has mad skills) and some pies. The kids played on the playground for a while and then we had some yummy dinner and pies. They had some fun activities for the kids and adults. Geoff did the water balloon toss but I didn't get any pictures because I was over with the kids. They got to play a few games and had a blast! Some of the pictures are blurry but you get the idea.
In this game they had 2 volunteers who wore t-shirts with a target on it. The kids got to throw a big WET sponge at them and see if they could hit the target. It was fun to watch the little ones (Cali's age) try it. Once they told Cali what to do it was hard to get her to stop. :)
When it was Aedan's turn he hit the target more than once! He was pretty excited!
Then it was off to the water balloons. They had little ones for the kids. All of the 2-5 age kids didn't really understand (or pay attention to find out) how to do a water balloon toss so Angie, who was in charge of the game, got a brilliant idea to have them all run a little race and then at the end throw their balloon. It was a huge hit! Cali cracked me up because she ran with her balloon high in the air with a huge grin and then very seriously threw her balloon on the ground.
Then ALL the kids got prizes for playing the games....
