TINKER BELL 10K

Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Tinker Bell! So I've wanted to do the Tinker Bell half marathon for a few years but now that I have Plantar Fasciitis that seems crazy to me. Sigh. This year they had their first Tinker Bell 10K though and when I saw that I signed up! I was training and doing good when I sprained my ankle (grrr) so I had to stop training for 6 weeks which left me 2 weeks to train again. No bueno! I wasn't feeling very positive about it but still wanted to do it for fun (hello! Tinker Bell medal at the end!)
We got up at 4 the morning of and headed out. It started at 6 but we were picking up a friend on the way so we left early. There were SO MANY people there!! I found my other friend, Kaleena, and we waited together for it to begin. Our hubbies went to wait in the bleachers at the finish. It was so crowded with people that we didn't even get to the start line until 6:25 and then it was slow going for a little bit while the people thinned out.
It was the most magical run you could ever do! Running through Disneyland and DCA is awesome and they had characters and employees cheering you on along the way. I was too afraid to stop and take pictures with them (they pick you up if you're too slow) but I still got a few along the way.
I ended up being really proud of how I did. I jogged until almost the 5 mile mark when I got a pretty bad cramp in my side and had to start walking and Kaleena and I stayed together that whole time until then. I did make sure to start jogging again before the end so I was jogging at the finish ;) but Geoff totally missed me so I have no picture of it. Dang!
I did so much better than I thought I would do and I am very happy about it. I totally want to do it again too.

We signed Aedan and Cali up for the kids races and since they were in the same age group we thought it would be super fun for them. We raced home to get them but because of the racers, the 3 day weekend and it being a Saturday the freeway was backed up a few exits and even after going up to a different exit, walking 1/2 a mile to try to make it, we were too late. Aedan was super bummed but Cali was ok with it. Haha. I felt bad that they didn't make it but the people gave them their medals anyways without us even asking. I figured they walked at least 200m to get there right? ;) I wanted a picture of us with our medals just for fun...

SO FAR...

We've had a pretty busy year! I feel like I've been going, going, going and it's not even a month into 2014! Here are a bunch of things from this year so far...

 Em got a bunch of mega blocks for Christmas (she LOVES them!!) so I wanted to get something big to put them in for easy play and clean up. I found this at Target and got it but she thought it was for her to sit in. She thought it was hilarious when I started filling with blocks (she was still in it)...

Aedan had an ear infection recently and came in and layed on Geoff's pillows (I was sitting against mine) and fell asleep...

I made pancakes one morning and then left the leftover pancakes and syrup on the table. While I was in the other room, Em decided she wanted more...

Cali was wearing her bride costume and Em wanted to wear things too so she put on the gloves and veil. Aedan helped her say cheese for a picture... ;)

She's been into dress up lately. She loves to put on the princess dresses and twirl...

Em got some Minnie Mouse hair things for Christmas and wanted me to put some in her hair. You can't see the whole head but I had put random ones all over. She was pretty giddy about it.

Aedan wanted to wear a bow tie to school so he wore it with his regular shirt...

I took a different route home on my morning jog one morning and Em saw a little playground and wanted to get out and play. She is so good on our little jogs that I thought she deserved to play a little...

When we got home she wanted to wear my shoes...

Em wanted me to put a flower in her hair. Then another and another and another... until she had a whole head of flowers. Haha

I cleaned and scrubbed the table so Aedan decided it was the place for his cars to hang out and have lunch...

Em found her old changing table cover which happens to be in her favorite material so she carried it around with her. It's sewn like a pillow case so I put her feet in it like a sleeping bag and she laughed like it was the funniest thing. She is such a fun little person!

Aedan and Cali wanted to put a puzzle together that they got for Christmas so we did it together. It's 3D and a circle so it seemed like it would be hard but we worked together and it was easier than we thought... and fun!

Em HAD to bring Minnie with her into Target. They sat together in the cart. I love that she loves this Minnie because she's my Minnie from when I was little. Sigh.

Cali went to her friend Sydney's birthday party. It was a doll party but she insisted on bringing her Elsa barbie instead of her doll. The party was so cute and fun and she had a great time. They made paper dolls and bracelets for their dolls and themselves.

I have an exercise video that I do with weights along with my jogging and the kids have watched me do it many times. Aedan randomly decided to "make an exercise video" so he got out one of the mats and my weights and started making up his own "video".  It was so cute and funny.

Em had a super curly head of hair after her nap one day so I tried to get a picture...

Em loves playing with my glasses. She smiles and giggles and thinks it some sort of game...

Em wanted to watch a movie so while I put the movie in she got all situated on the couch. She made sure Elsa & Anna were sitting with her. She is crazy about them!

We went to Pieology for Aedan's friend Jack's birthday and they were so cute sitting up at a table together. These two are such buddys!
