STRAWBERRY CORNER

The birthday I was pregnant with Em, Geoff rented a cabin for the weekend so we could relax and have some family time before we Em was here and we were super busy. If you followed me then, you'll remember our trip. We stayed at a cabin called Strawberry Corner and the kids had a blast! Geoff (and all her other previous renters) got an email from the owner because she'd had some cancellations and had some open days in case he was interested. So he thought it would be fun to surprise the kids with a weekend trip. They STILL play "Strawberry Cute Corner" (as Aedan calls it) and pretend they are there so we knew they'd love it. I was a little hesitant to go right before Christmas when there was so much to do BUT we ended up going and having a great time!
The kids slept most of the drive up because it was late by the time we packed, loaded and left. They chilled on the couch while we unloaded the car. They were all bundled in their hats, gloves and blankets because it was pretty cold outside...

In the morning Em came to snuggle in bed with Geoff and I. I tried to get a picture of us but it was dark and the flash was sooo bright! Can you tell? Haha

Aedan and Cali were so excited to re-explore the cabin and Em was excited to explore it for the 1st time...

We were all starving so we got dressed and walked into town (like 5 minutes) for some breakfast...

Breakfast was delicious!

(kinda blurry but we gotta have one of Em!)

Since we were out we walked around town and explored some shops...

and the kids got excited every time they saw the patches of snow because it had mostly turned to ice...

While Em took her nap we played some games and then let her play a little when she woke up before we headed out for lunch...

We went to a pizza place for lunch...

Then we walked around to find some snow. There wasn't much to find that we could actually play in but they had a blast in this area. Aedan and Cali had a snowball fight with Geoff and Em walked around eating the snow...

They decided to build a (very small) snowman so they gathered up as much snow as they could get and built a little snowman. They used little stones and twigs for the face and hands. It turned out so cute and little!

There was a new playground that they had build since we were there last and it was seriously awesome! If it wasn't so COLD the kids would have played on it for hours! We let them play for a while though and then it just got too cold. Once their little cheeks and noses were pink we had to head back. It was fun though...

Em really wanted to ride too...
(Geoff stayed close just in case)

She really wanted to climb the ropes too...

so Daddy helped her. He's so cool!

On our walk back to the cabin we stopped for some hot chocolate to keep our hands and tummys warm...

The kids snuggled and watched a movie while Geoff ran to get some firewood to build a firewood...

(I snuggled and read a book) ;)

We roasted some hot dogs for dinner and then roasted some marshmallows for s'mores. The flash was bright but you can still tell that she enjoyed it...

It was pretty cold, even in the cabin so the girls snuggled with Geoff...

We put Em to bed and Aedan was tired so he headed up to bed too. Cali wanted to stay up and play Uno so her and Geoff played while I snuggled on the couch. It was still cold! Geoff checked the heater and it wasn't working (There was no propane in it...no wonder!) so we called the owner and she tried to  reach her handyman but couldn't. We prepared the cabin for a cold night for her(so the pipes wouldn't freeze, act) and then headed home. While we waited to hear about the handyman, Geoff and Cali just kept playing cards. I think Cali really enjoyed having Dad and Mom (especially Daddy) all to herself. ;)

We were sad to leave early but had such a great time it really wasn't that big of a deal. We love it up at Strawberry Corner!
