GRANDMA'S BIRTHDAY

Yesterday was my Grandma's birthday! When we told Aedan it was her birthday he said "We should make her a cake!". We were already planning on it but we let him and Cali make it (with our help). Then I made some yummy frosting and we took the cake over to Grandma's for her birthday. I totally forgot to take pictures with the cake but I did take one of her with the kids.

Grandma with Cali & Aedan:

Before we left, the kids posed for the camera together. Cali is starting to pose a little because she sees Aedan do it. :)

RUFFLES

I couldn't remember if Cali had worn this dress last summer or not. She had a few dresses that were too big for her skinny little self and had to wait for this summer. I searched the blog and yes, she did wear it last summer but since I already took these pictures and it's such a CUTE dress I figured... why not? She IS wearing new shoes...

Cali:
"I make this dress look good...even though it's sooo 2010!"

And a close up of the shoes...

PURPLE SHOES

Cali has been all about the color purple lately! She LOVES it! So, I found these purple shoes and HAD TO get them for her. Then there happened to be purple in this dress so that's what she wore...

For the last few months, every time I put Cali in a dress she says "I'm a Princess!" and does some twirls. It's pretty much the cutest thing. She loves being a little princess.

UM... NO

Yesterday Cali wore this outfit I got a while ago. It's an adorable outfit... for an infant! I didn't realize when I got it that it was not quite age appropriate for an almost 3 year old even though it comes in her size.
Well, she still looked darn cute so I'll let her wear it around the house but not in public. What do you think???

And of course Aedan saw the camera and had to have his picture taken too...

OH, OUR ACHING BACKS!

Since we've moved into our apt we've been using our futon as our couch. My back has been killing me and 2 weeks ago I stood up and it kinked my back so bad it took 2 chiropractor visits to get it back to normal.
So, I saw an ad with 4th of July sales on couches the other day and showed Geoff (his back has been aching from the futon too). We both agreed our backs couldn't handle it any longer! :)
I didn't want an expensive couch when our 2 little munchkins are just gonna dirty it up anyway so we went and found the cheapest comfiest (is that a word?) couch there and got it! Aedan is very proud of himself because he picked out his favorite (which happened to be the one we already chose) and that's the one we got. Him and Cali both think it's pretty cool.
It doesn't exactly match our decor but I got some pillows I liked and I'll just have to find some stuff to tie it together somehow. We are happy with our couch and our backs thank us for putting them out of their misery. :)
Here are the kids showing off the new couch...

4TH OF JULY FUN!

We went to a big church breakfast at the park to start out our day. It was HUGE with tons of food. We put on our red, white and blue and headed over.
Geoff grilled us some cheeseburgers (we figured 4th of July was a day for burgers, ect) and it was delicious!!
Some friends invited us to go with them to watch the fireworks but Geoff had a paper to write so he couldn't go. I was going to take the kids but the fireworks didn't start until 9 and I wasn't sure how late we'd be out and how tired they would be. So, Geoff put them to bed and worked on his paper while I went to watch the fireworks.

Aedan posed for his picture but Cali didn't want to so I had to catch her on the run (literally). I decided to stick with the pigtails since they are so cute and I already had the flowers made. :)

Aedan pulled this wagon around all over! He let Cali sit in it or he'd just pull it by itself. Sometimes it would get stuck and he'd sit there and figure out how to un-stuck it and then keep going.

The wagon was a little wet from the ice and fruit they pulled in the wagon which resulted in this...

Geoff and the kids went over by the lake. Cali was close to the edge so Geoff told her if she didn't move away from the edge he was gonna throw her in. In this picture Cali is asking Geoff "You want me to throw you in?" He said it was pretty funny. That's our sassy Cali for ya!

Geoff used the ice water to wash the kids hands. They thought it was so fun! Cali wanted to do it again and again and I'm not sure why because the water was COLD! She sat and played with it for a while, crazy girl!

The kids loved the ice cream! YUM!!
(I love Cali's face!)

A few (not so great) iphone pics of the fireworks...

RED, WHITE & BLUE SPIRIT

Today we wore Red, White & Blue for the 4th of July tomorrow. Cali wore a cute dress and I put her hair in the pigtails again but made flowers this time. Aedan wanted to take pictures outside so on our way to the car we took some pictures and had some fun with it. :)

Me & the kids:

Kisses!

This is supposed to be a kiss but it doesn't look like that's what's going on:

After church we went to help cut a bunch of fruit for a big 4th of July breakfast at the park tomorrow (with church peeps) so I changed Cali so she could keep the flowers in. I thought she looked pretty cute. :)

Aedan wanted pictures too but was being silly:

When we were gone Aedan got his shoes all wet and dirty so he wouldn't put them on and wouldn't walk on the ground either. So, I had him wear my flip flops. His little feet looked cute in my big flip flops and he posed in them.

walking away...
