SNUG AS A BUG IN A RUG

Yesterday I went in the kids room during nap time. Cali was curled up with her bum in the air in a little ball. She looked so cuddly and comfy and cute snuggling her blanky.

PAPA'S SHIRT

You might remember that last March my Papa passed away. My Grandma gave Kevin some of his shirts and his jacket since they are the same size. Kevin looks so cute in Papa's shirts and it's kinda weird that the shirts are actually in style right now. Who knew?
Well, when Tammy was here for Thanksgiving she saw Kev wearing the shirts and was like "hey... I want a shirt too!" Some might think it's morbid or something but Papa was so special to us and she really wanted one to remember him and I decided I did too. So, when we went to visit Grandma we asked if we could have a shirt too. She took us into their room where some shirts were hanging neatly in the closet. She'd given most of them away but there were a few left on the hanger with the plastic bag still over it from the dry cleaners. His boots were still sitting on the closet floor like they were waiting for him. It was so sad! Grandma let us pick out a shirt and take it home. So, I told Geoff that he could wear it if he wanted too since he happens to be a medium too. Yesterday he wore the shirt and it was cool to see Geoff wear such a special shirt. Sounds cheesy but it's true. I really loved my Papa so it's nice too see the shirt passed from one amazing man to another. :)

Geoff always has to pose silly for pictures. Makes me laugh.

BIG BOY AEDAN

This Sunday was a big day for Aedan! He went from Nursery to Sunbeams! In Nursery it's all about playing, coloring and snack time but he is now in Primary where he is in the Sunbeams class with a teacher and a lesson each week (probably about 5 minutes long). Then they go in with the other kids to sing songs and stuff. He was excited because Maegan is there for that and he got to see her. She said that he said hi and waved (loudly) which I think is totally cute. :)
He wore his outfit that he got from Grandma for Christmas and looked so handsome. Cali wore a new Christmas outfit too and looked super cute.

(Aedan's pose)

When I went to go get Aedan he was excited about his new class and he was wearing a crown that they made so I took a picture of him wearing it. It says "I am a child of God". He also colored a paper so it looks like he'll still get to do that. This kid is growing up way to fast!!

SOCK DRAWER

Cali has been getting into her sock drawer lately. It has socks, tights, beanies, gloves, and all kinds of stuff in there. So, she's been putting everything on and having tons of fun! She comes in to show me all her different stuff and usually I don't have my camera on me but since I was taking pictures of Aedan making lemonade I had mine when she came in trying to put on her bunny beanie. She thinks she's so funny!

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU LEMONS...

MAKE LEMONADE!!
My Mom's trees grow TONS of lemons and oranges... it's crazy! So, Maegan went out and picked a bunch of lemons to make lemonade with. Aedan saw her juicing them and wanted to help. So, he helped make some lemonade and it was YUMMY!!

MASCARA MESS

Sunday morning Cali got into my makeup bag. She LOVES to do that! She takes my mascara and foundation and gets it all over herself. Yuck! This time she was putting it all over her feet... not sure where she got that idea. Luckily she did it before I got her ready for church. :)

NEW YEARS!!

Well, I have no pictures from New Years. I know... shocker! We just stayed home and watched movies and played games. It was relaxing and a pj night. I intended to take pictures but forgot. The kids slept anyways so really... what else do I take pictures of?? :)

I am so excited for this new year! I made a New Year's resolution last year to get healthy. I never stick to my resolutions but was determined that time. I have been so proud of myself as I've actually stuck to it and by the end of 2010 I lost 35+ pounds and was jogging 3 miles Mon-Fri! I am much healthier and feel fantastic!
The last few months I've gotten a little crafty and have worked on some new projects. I was surprised to find that I enjoyed it and was good at it!

So this year I have a few goals...

1. I want to continue with my exercising for sure! I signed up for the Big Sur Mud Run in March that I am very excited about! My Grandparents did it last year and loved it so when we visited them in November they told me all about it and showed me their pictures again. I decided to do it with them this year! My little sister Tammy and little brother Kevin signed up with me so we are very excited! Geoff might sign up also which would be awesome! Deciding to do the Mud Run has forced me to up my game a bit. I have to be able to jog 5 miles by then. Plus there are 1 or 2 five foot walls, 4 mud pits and some other stuff. I love having this to look forward to and keep me going! I'd love to find a few more things to do this year as well.

2. I want to learn how to sew! My Mom is going to teach me how to sew and I am very excited! I want to make little dresses for Cali mostly :) and see what else I can do. Since Geoff spoiled me with my sewing machine for Christmas I'm ready to go!

3. I want to get a little crafty. Nothing too crazy but I'd like to learn a few new crafts and see what I can do.

So, mostly this year is about improving myself I guess. I hope that's not too selfish. :)

I hope everyone else had a fun New Years and wish you all a fantastic 2011!!

LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES...

I have been DYING to see Tangled but we've been so busy with Christmas stuff that we haven't had time so Mom and I decided that the week after Christmas we'd take the kids and go. I wasn't only excited for me but I was super excited to take the kids to their very first movie!!
I was slightly nervous about them getting restless or cranky but they were absolutely perfect! My Mom got everyone a popcorn so they sat there munching and were totally into the movie. I was pleasantly surprised that I got to sit and enjoy the movie too... no worries. :) After the movie was over Aedan said "That was cool! Now I want to watch Blues Clues and Spider Man!"

Oh, and the movie... FANTASTIC!! I totally loved it!

Cali all ready to go:

We got there about 1 minute before the movie started so I didn't have time to take any pictures before, and after Aedan wouldn't sit in his chair anymore for a picture. Cali would though so here she is!

There was a big movie poster thing outside our theatre and Aedan was amazed by it and wanted his picture with the lizard guy. Then Cali went over for a picture too.

Us in front of the theatre:

Then the kids saw a water fountain thing and wanted to watch the water...

Aedan was so good! He walked with Uncle Kevin, holding his hand all the way to and from the theatre (Cali was in a stroller).

SUPER COOL

Yesterday morning we watched Tinker Bell (Cali's choice... that's my girl!) in my room. Aedan came in to watch it with us and found a pair of my gloves. He already had some glasses he had found somewhere and he put the gloves on. He sat there like he was the coolest kid on the planet. It made me giggle so I got out the camera.

SO SQUEEZABLE!

I just love this adorable, squeezable little girl!
