DFV 2011

DAY 2

We woke up, went for a run (Geoff and I), had some breakfast, and then it was craft time with Grandma! This was seriously the only thing we could get Cali to leave the cabin for. She didn't like the cold so she was quite the hermit (luckily I brought plenty of movies to keep her occupied and she is a pro at Daddy's ipad2). When it was craft time though she jumped up, put on her coat and ran across to Grandma's cabin. Aedan was a huge fan too. I don't think anyone had a better time at camp than Aedan. He LOVED playing cars in the dirt, playing with all of his cousins, and all the crafts Grandma had for them to do. He was in heaven all week!!
The adults played games too. I have no idea what the one below is called but they had a good time playing it. I mostly just stood around taking pictures or talking with everyone.

Craft time with Grandma:
puzzles, coloring, building stuff, finger paint, watercolors, and more

This picture is blurry (dang!) but I like it.

We went for a hike to the lake (it's a very short hike). We joined everyone later so we could wait for Cali to wake up but we eventually made it! The kids had so much fun walking to the lake and playing in the sand box by it.

DFV 2011

DAY 1

Tuesday was the first day of DFV (Douglas Family Vacation). We all got there in the afternoon/evening and set up our cabins. We shared our cabin with Nick (Geoff's brother), Amy and Hailey which was so fun! It was chilly when we got there so I bundled up the kids first thing and then we got to work. Aedan was such a big helper! He wanted to help blow up the air mattresses. We forgot our electric and battery one so we used Tom's pump one. I shouldn't say "we" because it was all Geoff and Aedan. I just got everything sorted and Cali just walked around looking cute.

Then we ate some dinner and sat around the camp fire. Our kids went to bed early but the rest of us got to chat and eat smores. I was super excited about that! Geoff made mine for me (isn't he so cool?) and it was YUMMY!!

For some reason I really like this picture of Geoff and his Mom even though they totally have straight faces. I'm not sure why either because they were talking and laughing together. I must have caught them deep in thought. :)

I really like this picture of Geoff. :)

Finally! A smore!! Can you tell I'm excited??

Atticus chillin by the fire:

After smores a few peeps came into our cabin for some games and fun. I was pretty exhausted from my late nights with Michelle (those are always too good to pass up) so I relaxed and went to sleep. I did hear some laughs and good times going on so I think fun was had by all who stayed up.

AEDANS 4 YEAR PICTURES (A FEW MONTHS LATE)

Now... I have to warn you. These are pretty amazing. Ever since Aedan started posing I've wanted to get him in front of Michelle's camera. I really hoped he wouldn't get all shy. He did NOT disappoint. He was an excellent subject (for the first time in a few years!) and posed a ton. I was so happy I got him a treat afterwards. Michelle took amazing pictures, as usual. So, here is my little super model...

The Favorite!

THEATRE

Our next stop was to visit Michelle. We stayed there a few days. There were some late nights and the kids played great together. Michelle and I got to do some Memorial Day shopping and Michelle was awesome enough to take some pictures of Aedan posing. They are AWESOME but they will be in the next post.
While we were there we watched a movie in their theatre they have in the basement. We let the kids watch Tangled (the Sallays hadn't seen it and we insisted that they HAD to!). Their theatre is amazing!! The kids had a blast watching the movie and the surround sound was just like being in a movie theatre. At the beginning there are fireworks and the kids got so excited and clapped for them. We all thought it was pretty adorable.

DALE

So, I know I haven't blogged in a few weeks but... we've been on vacation!! I'll have enough posts and pictures in the next few days to make up for months of blogging. :)
We started our trip by stopping in Vegas to see Lisa & Wade. We got a late start so we didn't get to spend as much time as I wanted to and I only got 2 pictures. The kids love their dog Ella and their cats Dale and Figero. Cali wanted to hold Dale on her lap but Dale is a pretty big cat. He's very snuggly when he wants to be but doesn't like to stay put when you want him to. :) So, I put Dale on Cali's lap and he didn't stay but I did get a picture of him almost on Cali's lap. He walked away pretty fast and she was not happy.
