MY BIRTHDAY!!

My birthday started out with Geoff making me a yummy breakfast. Geoff made me a crown to wear as Queen of the day.

Then we took the kids over to my parents house for a slumber party. My Mom made some HUGE cupcakes. They all sang "Happy Birthday"...

(both are kinda blurry but you get the idea)

We took the chocolate one with us (of course) and then went to meet our friends Liesl and Ian at California Pizza Kitchen. We had fun chatting with them and eating yummy food.

Then we went back to the apartment to play games and have some cake and ice cream. They had me put my crown on again. :)

My birthday was super fun! We loved hanging out with Liesl and Ian! Thanks guys for coming to celebrate my birthday with us! You rock!

COUCH

Geoff washed all of Aedan's blankets and everything yesterday including the cover for his couch bed. We hadn't put it back together yet so he set up all foam pieces to make his couch, covered it with his blanky, got a pillow (for decoration?) and set up a phone next to it. Then when he was all finished he sat and "talked to Daddy" on the phone.

SIBLING LOVE

So, yesterday was a TERRIBLE day for me. I got Aedan's flu and man... now I know why he was so miserable! It was the worst flu I've ever had!! Luckily mine didn't last as long. I was only in bed for 1 day while Aedan's was 2. Poor kid! So today I'm feeling weak but better and will be back to normal in no time!
So... Geoff took the day off to take care of the kids (and me) which was great! At one point he came in and told me the kids were in reading a book together and I was like... "Go grab the camera!" I know, big surprise! So, he went and took a picture of it. Since there has been a bit of sibling rivalry lately it was nice to see some sibling love. :)

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS...

when you neglect your child for a day. Aedan had a terrible flu for 2 days and on the second day I was feeling a little sluggish so Cali just roamed around doing whatever she wanted. While we ate dinner I took a good look at her...white shirt with grape juice spills and one arm sticking out, dirty face, hair falling out of her ponytail...and just a cute as ever! :)
She was not complaining at all. She was perfectly happy!

PRIMARY ACTIVITY

We had a Primary activity this morning. Cali is still too young for Primary but they let her join in on all the activities since she was there and they had plenty of stuff. They both had a great time! It was a St. Patrick's Day party so they both wore green. They sang songs, decorated sugar cookies, played some games and had a scavenger hunt (the group of little kids had some help). It was a fun morning and the kids left with plenty of treats.

I totally LOVE this shirt of Cali's:

Cali wanted a picture of herself:

The treasure at the end of the scavenger hunt:

MOMMY CALI

I've mentioned before that the kids take their dogs everywhere with them. Cali treats hers like a little baby and it's pretty cute. She's quite the little Mommy. :) Yesterday she was pushing it around in her stroller.

IN MY SHOES

The last few mornings the kids have gotten up, gone straight to my closet and put on my shoes. Cali tries on different pairs and walks around in them (I think she's the instigator). She has become a little poser lately like Aedan.

OUR NEW PLACE

So, I'm not sure if anyone cares or not but.... I love our new apartment! Our only complaint is that we've lived here for a month and still don't have our mail keys! What the heck? It's being taken care of (hopefully) so lets move on. :) Our little place is great! It's taken us a while to figure out where things should go since we have enough stuff to fill up a house but we're mostly all settled in! We still have a few more things to figure out and put up on walls but we'll get to it soon.
I wanted to share a few of my favorite things so far...

Our big family picture and our picture of Christ that we love is behind our couch. Our living room is a good size but it's just a big square so when you put the couch against the wall the tv is super far away. So, we stole an idea we've seen a few places and put the couch away from the wall a bit. We have our drawers of dvds behind it. Now we just need a couch! We sold ours before we moved. Our futon couch will do for now. :)

My row of Old Fashioned pictures. I love these and this was a great spot for it right above our window. These are just the ones with Lisa and with Geoff and the kids. I did find my very 1st one the other day (in high school with my friend Christy) so I think I'll put that one up too.

This one is a little off centered because I didn't want a big flash spot in the tv. :) So, here is our entertainment center and stuff. I love my flower things.

This is kind of a silly one. We got a coat rack to put behind the door. I always have to run around looking for everyone's coats on our way out the door so I wanted something to hang them on where I could just grab them. During the summer we'll hang our beach towels or something. :) Isn't it so cute with two little coats hanging on it?

I went and got new book shelves. I wanted short ones so we could put these pictures above it. I'm so excited to have all my scrapbooks out of storage! I love looking through them whenever I feel like it.

When we got mostly settled I was so sad that I had nowhere to put my Tinker Bell stuff (or shrine as we like to call it). I was walking through Target and found some ledges clearance for like $3 each. So, I snagged a bunch of them and Geoff put them up on the wall. I am so happy now and smile every time I look at it. It's in our dining room area.
