Aedan's city

I have meant to blog now for about a week! I have to admit that I have been very preoccupied during all my spare time with watching season 5 of Bones in time for the 6th season to start tomorrow. :) Now that I am caught up and ready... I can update the blog!

So, Geoff got out Aedan's rug last week and Aedan went to town with all his cars. He took some stuff from their room and added to his rug.... and parked his cars around the little city. So cute!

Princess Cali

A month or so ago my sister Tammy and her family came for a visit and while they were here Tammy and I divided up Maegan's dress up clothes for her girls and Cali. Maegan had a ton of princess dresses so Cali has quite a little collection now.

Lately Cali has been taking off all of her clothes (including diaper) and running around naked. We will just find her playing naked around the house. Aedan never did that so it's a new experience for me and I have been a little frustrated. I don't want a naked little girl running around (especially is she's not potty trained yet!). She throws a fit when I try to put her diaper and clothes on. Is this normal??

So... I thought I'd distract her by playing dress up! I got out her princess dresses and she was totally up for putting them on. It didn't last long but it was fun to play. While she was a princess she would only respond if I called her Princess Cali. She really is such a princess!!

Aedan wanted to play too so I made him Prince Aedan with a purple cape (it's really a skirt but it worked). I guess I need to get him some boyish dress up clothes. :)

My Mom took Princess Cali into the bathroom to show her how cute she looked and she got a big kick out of seeing herself in a pretty dress. :)

Batman

Yesterday morning Aedan saw Geoff's Batman shirt and he thinks it's pretty cool. He asked if he could wear it so Geoff put it on him. Cali wanted to wear it too so Geoff got out a plain black shirt and put it on her. She could barely walk in it because it was so long but she followed Aedan around while he said "I'm Batman!"

Sleepy

Aedan and Cali both skipped their naps yesterday and were REALLY tired! Cali never misses her nap so she ended up falling asleep in my lap. Aedan naps off and on now so we thought he'd be fine. He ended up falling asleep eating his brownie last night. When I saw him I wondered how the heck he was staying on the chair because he was completely asleep.

Let's Rock!

The other day Aedan said "Let's Rock Mom!" and he handed me a guitar and took the other one to "rock". Cali wanted to play though so I gave her the one I had and the kids ran around "rocking" on their guitars.

Soccer it is!

In case I had any doubt that my kids would be little soccer players, Cali showed me yesterday that she is ready! She put on Maegan's soccer sock and shoe like a pro. She even folded the sock at the knee somehow. I swear... if it goes on your feet, this girl will figure out how to put it on. :)

The drive home

We had a long drive home yesterday. It wasn't as bad as we expected so that was good but it still took a lot longer than we'd have liked. With 2 toddlers the shorter the drive the better right?

We started by stopping for some chicken nuggets and fries and then the kids fell asleep for a nap that wasn't quite long enough. Since they went swimming they both had pool hair. I totally thought Aedan looked like a surfer or something. :)

Cali's hair was driving me crazy so I put a few clips in it to keep it out of her face. She was pretty cranky from waking up early so we gave them some fruit snacks to keep them both happy until we stopped.

I decided we should stop at the outlets in Barstow so the kids could run around and get out some energy (and lets face it... I wanted to shop!) Cali saw a hat at Old Navy and put it on backwards. After running around the store for a few minutes she found some shoes and plopped herself on the floor to start trying on every pair she saw. She is so funny! I took the opportunity to run into the dressing room (don't worry... Geoff was watching her and Aedan) so I didn't get a picture of that but it was pretty funny to see her surrounded by shoes.

We stopped at Vince's on the way home!! I was pretty grumpy when we left too late on Friday to stop on our way out of town because I thought they'd be closed for Labor Day. I called Monday morning just in case and was so glad I did because they were totally open and I was one happy girl after eating my fill of yummy spaghetti and garlic bread!!

Family

We spent Sunday all day and Monday morning with the family. Since Jennifer and I married brothers there was tons of family there from Geoff's side and mine. It was fun to see everyone! Some of Geoff family we hadn't seen in years so it was great to catch up and chat. :)

All of my Mom's grandkids were there so we took some pictures of them together with little Trever...

I thought Cali looked pretty cute in her outfit...

Monday morning we went over for a little bit to say goodbye to everyone. The kids got in the pool for a few minutes and then we left so we could sit in as little traffic as possible to come home.

Trever Benjamin

On Sunday we met Trever for the first time. He is so tiny and cute and we didn't really hear a peep out of him the whole day. He's a pretty happy little guy.
