Geoff wanted to take a last minute camping trip and the kids were so excited! He booked a spot at a Big Bear campsite (no showers and no toilets!! Only outhouses!) for the weekend after school got out (Father's Day weekend). We ran to the store for some last minute camping stuff, loaded up the car and then took off! The car was so packed we had stuff on our laps...
Within minutes of her being there, Cali was covered in dirt! Her and Aedan were playing with cars and tractors and a campground full of dirt is the perfect place for that!
Geoff set up the tent and we got everything situated. The kids wanted to keep the tent empty so they could run around in it but
We had a simple dinner since we were getting everything settled still. The kids had fun eating in their camp chairs. Mostly they were excited to start a campfire and roast some marshmallows for s'mores!! I admit... I was too. ;)

First thing in the morning the kids were playing in the dirt again...
I love camping food! There's just something about it that is so delicious! We made some eggs, potatoes and bacon and ate it by the fire...
Em slept until 9! She must love the outdoors!

When we got back we played with some puzzles we'd gotten for the trip....
For lunch we made foil meals that were so delicious! It was just seasoned meat, potatoes and carrots but it was awesome! Em wanted to help make them. ;)
We headed into town to see what there was to do and found a playground so we let the kids play for a little bit. I had Geoff's brother Nick make some shirts for Geoff and the kids and they wore them at the same time. I took lots of pictures here...

Em wanted to watch a movie so we put one on for her and the kids...
We invited my parents and Maegan to come up so they arrived Friday evening. They brought a tent for the kids to sleep in which Aedan and Cali were super excited about (but they ended up back in our tent half way through the night)...
We roasted marshmallows, made s'mores and drank hot chocolate around the campfire...
In the morning my Mom and I cooked up some pancakes, eggs and potatoes and it was pretty dang good. My Mom made everything just like when I was a kid so it reminded me of all our campouts growing up. Yum!

We drove out to Twenty Nine Palms (where Geoff is from) to visit his brother's family but stopped at the hotel to shower first. We all washed our hair twice to get all the dirt out! Haha It felt so good to be clean again!
