SOCK HOP

My Mom's ward was having a Sock Hop fundraiser for the Young Women's girls camp so we went to support that. She told us to wear our 50's outfits since it themed so I made Em a little poodle skirt real quick, got out all the 50's stuff we had and looked in Aedan's closet to see what he had that would work. We ended up looking pretty cute ;) but we got there and we were the ONLY ones dressed up. It was still fun though and they had a band come after dinner and play music so the kids all danced and had fun. The girls twirled around in their skirts (Em copied Cali which was pretty cute).

A video of the girls...

AEDAN'S BIRTHDAY

Aedan's birthday this year was pretty awesome. When he got up and dressed for school we let him open a few presents...

He had BEGGED for this Lego Movie shirt!

He loves the white oreos...

Just Em being her silly self...

He changed right into his shirt for school...

I wanted to do something cool and was trying to think of ideas and thought of Medieval Times but wasn't sure if he'd like it. It's kind of a pricey thing to do if you're not sure the kids will have fun (totally worth it if they do though). So I asked him if he was interested in doing it and he said yes. Both Aedan and Cali were pretty excited! While they were at school I made a cake for Aedan's birthday and when they got home they helped with the blue icing. Cali made the star and Aedan made the happy face. Then we headed over to Grandma's house to have cake and open presents.

He's been dying for Ninjago legos and he got some from us and Grandma...

They enjoyed the cake... ;)

Some birthday tickles...

At Medieval Times we were the Red knight. The kids (Aedan, Cali and Maegan) were excited to find out what this place was all about but I made them take a few pictures before we went in...

Geoff got them some fun toys (Aedan chose a sword and Cali chose a wand)...

Then we saw that they had the option to have your kids birthday announced and they also got a tunic AND they get knighted by the King so we did that too. Aedan thought it was so awesome! He totally loved it! They give you a picture and a certificate too.

They're ready for the fun!

We were too, of course!

We got them little flags so they could cheer for their knight...

You totally eat with your hands... like in the medieval times!
(I love this place!)

Some pictures of the knights...

Our knight threw a flower to Cali...

We had the best time! The kids cheered for their knight and booed the other knights with so much energy! They liked the food and ate it! Overall it was an amazing night and I left a super happy Mom. I really wanted it to be a fun birthday for Aedan and it really was. We ALL had a blast!
When we got home Maegan gave her flag to Em and she ran around waving it with the other kids. She thought it was super fun!
