So, my Nikon has bit the dust. I'm pretty dang sad about it.
Luckily I have my old camera still so I'm able to take crappy pictures. Em & Cali both wore new dresses this week (what's new right?) and looked pretty cute. :) The colors are a little off and Cali's dress is cuter than it looks. Promise. :)

EM'S BLESSING
Sunday was Em's blessing day! We were so excited to have family and friends come to meet her and to have her blessed at church. An LDS baby blessing is the equivalent to a christening (I think). The baby is given a name and blessing, usually by the baby's father (Geoff did Em's).
We had 50 RSVPs so there were a lot more people coming than would fit in our apartment so my Mom let us have lunch at her place afterwards which was awesome! I made these taquitos that I found on Pinterest (they are YUMMY!!) and stuff for lunch and then we had some super yummy desserts after. I spent all of Saturday in my kitchen baking (except when I was feeding Em). Seriously! Everyone loved the food though so it was worth it. :) We are so grateful to all the family and friends that came and it was so fun to see them!
Geoff's brother Nick and his family stayed with us while they were here. They're daughter Hailey played and played with Aedan and Cali and their 5 month old Kayla "played" with Em (meaning they laid on the floor together). It was fun having them stay with us.
On Sunday I was up bright and early because we needed to drop off all the food at my Mom's before church and get Em's blessing dress that my Mom made. I did Cali's hair and it looked pretty cute...
I got Geoff and Aedan matching ties recently so they wore them on Sunday. Don't they look so cute? (We changed Aedan's socks before we left. Haha)
We got to Mom's and put Em in her beautiful dress. Mom had also made matching shoes!! I couldn't get over how adorable the little shoes are! Here she is...
My Grandma came to the blessing which was very cool and I appreciated my dad driving her out so she could be there. She loves to see the kids so much and she was so happy to be there!
Once we got back to the house Geoff and I got busy in the kitchen throwing taquitos together and into the oven as fast as we could so everyone could eat. We had friends and family pitch in to help us which was great! I tried to get pictures of people who were there...
My cousin Drew and his wife have a new little guy who's almost 5 months now so we took a picture of us holding our babies...
Em's bff Riley came to see her! She was so excited and they had some play time on the floor together. :)

SHOTS
We took the kids to the Dr to get all their shots updated for Preschool/Kindergarden. The nurse gave them little gowns to wear and they looked so cute! They were both very brave getting their shots but there was definitely some crying. Then Aedan even had to go have blood taken (not a finger prick, out of his arm!) and he was so scared after all those shots but he did it! His favorite part was peeing in a cup because it didn't hurt. :)

OPEN HOUSE
Because Aedan's preschool is at an elementary school, they had an open house night with the rest of the school. It was so fun to go and have Aedan show us everything he's been working on. I have only been to his classroom like twice since before Em was born so it was all stuff I hadn't seen. He was most excited to show us the plant he was growing and it was all he talked about for days before.

CHOPPED
My friend Breanna LOVES to cook! Her sister-in-law Rebecca (I grew up knowing Rebecca's family so I know her also) decided it would be fun to do a night of "Chopped" just for fun. Have you seen that show? I don't think I've ever watched it. She sent me an email asking if Geoff or I would be willing to compete against her. She probably meant Geoff but included me to be nice because she knows that Geoff is the chef in our family. Haha. So I asked Geoff and he agreed to do it.
The idea behind "Chopped", in case you haven't seen it, is that there are chef's competing. The judges give them a secret ingredient that they have to include in what they make and they don't know what it is until right before the clock starts. Then they have 30 minutes to prepare their course. Then the judges pick a winner.
We had 2 contestants... Geoff and Breanna and 4 judges... Rebecca, January (Breanna's SIL), Breanna's Mom and me. Each judge brought a secret ingredient and Rebecca also brought a not so secret ingredient which was chocolate. They were only making dessert and had 1 hour to do it (we gave them more time).
So then us judges judged on taste, appearance, and use of the secret ingredients. They both tasted good so it was a tough one but Breanna ended up winning by 4 points (close one). I forgot to take a picture of them after. We plan to do it again but do a main course next time....
