CELEBRATORY DINNER

The hospital does this "celebratory dinner" thing where they bring the Mom and Dad both a yummy meal with Sparkling Cider and the works. It was pretty cool! It seemed pretty fancy (for a hospital) and it was pretty good... especially the cupcakes! Em was awake during it so she joined us too.

It was some sort of mango chicken (yummy!), potatoes, broccoli, salad, roll, a cupcake and some andes mints. It was pretty tasty. :)

(we need to get used to eating one handed again. haha)

MEETING EM

We had some visitors after Em (short for Elizabeth Mae) was born. The kids were very excited to meet their new little sister so Grandma, Grandee and Maegan brought them right away. Grandpa met them there so he could meet her too. The kids thought she was cute and all but they were a little disappointed that she didn't do much. I think they were hoping she'd jump up and run around with them. :) The kids were all wearing their outfits I picked out for the hospital. We got Em changed so she was wearing hers too. Aedan and Cali are wearing their "big brother" and "big sister" shirts and Em is wearing her "little sister" shirt. We got some pictures of everyone with little Em.

Em was warming up after her bath so the kids got to peek in and see her...

ELIZABETH MAE

The day finally came! We were so ready and excited to welcome out new baby girl into the world. We packed up our stuff, dropped the kids off at Grandma's and headed to the hospital. Before we left, I took a few last pictures of the belly...

39 weeks, 3 days before my due date...

After these I totally changed into comfy clothes because really... who needs to look cute when you're off to have a baby?? :) We got to the hospital where they poked me a few times (IV, Spinal Tap) and then the fun began! They brought Geoff in right as they were starting so he sat with me and held my hand while they cut me open. All the peeps in the OR with me were so nice and friendly so it was actually kinda fun. Geoff got some pretty cool (although too gory and graphic for the blog) pictures of them pulling her out and then he followed her around taking pictures. They cleaned her up, I could hear her crying so I knew she was there somewhere, and then they gave her to Daddy so he could hold her and bring her over to me.

Here I am! For the record... I HATE oxygen masks!!

HERSHEY

Maegan got a puppy as an early birthday present so of course we went over to see her and play. She named her Hershey which seems to suit her. She is a lab/german shepherd mix and is pretty cute! She's also really cuddly but also playful. It looks like they picked a good one!
The kids were excited to go see the puppy and were a little bummed when she was taking a little nap when they got there. They just pet her and brushed her fur and waited for her to wake up. Maegan took Hershey outside to go potty and she was so cute and playful! Cali was running around letting Hershey chase her and then Aedan came out and joined them. They loved it!
The next morning Cali woke up very sad and crying. We couldn't figure out what happened but when we asked what was wrong she said "I love Maegan's puppy!"and we knew she missed little Hershey. Lately whenever she misses something and wants it, she'll say "I love...". It's pretty cute.
Here are some pictures of the kids with Hershey. A few are kinda blurry when they're running around with her but still cute. :)
