L.A. County Fair Part I

We went to California this weekend for our annual trip to the L.A. County Fair for Lisa's birthday. We decided to take the kids in the morning and then they could spend the rest of the day with Grandma (my Mom) while we went back to the fair with Lisa and everyone. The kids had a great time and it was so fun to take them. We pretty much just saw the animals in the big barn and took a bunch of pictures. They were tired and ready to go by noon.

Our Old Fashion picture this year:

All of the pictures with our faces through the holes:

They had a big tractor that Aedan loved to "drive":

There was a long hay maze and Aedan had fun
running through it with the other kids:

We took some pictures of the kids on the hay:

Peter Rabbit was in the barn! Aedan said hi but was too shy to take a picture so I stood next to him with Cali and we all took a picture together:

Aedan was running around with all the animals. He loved it!

Aedan and Daddy looking at the chickens. Aedan waved and said hi.

Aedan was the most excited to see the pigs for some reason. :)

Bananas

We give Aedan bananas with his breakfast on mornings when we have bananas in the house and this morning was one of those mornings. We decided to give some to Cali to see what she thought and she loved them! It was hilarious to watch her try to scoop them up since they were such slippery little guys. She would get it and it would slip right out of her hands. She was very determined though and whenever she'd get a good grip on one she'd shove it straight into her mouth.

Scooping up the banana:

shoving it into her mouth:

very happy with herself about it:

It was also funny that the stickiness from her bananas would cause the cheerios to stick to her hands and arms.

It's all about Aedan

A few weeks ago Aedan wanted to have nothing to do with having his picture taken because he wanted to be the one taking all the pictures. Well, he still loves to walk around with our old camera and take all kinds of pictures but now whenever I get out my camera he jumps in front of it because he wants his picture taken so he can see what it looks like. So, yesterday morning he was smiling and saying "cheese" for the camera when I was trying to take pictures of Cali. I of course took advantage of it since he was so willing. Then we had to sit down and go through all the pictures together. :)

Curly hair

Cali's hair is getting a little longer (finally!) and now she has little curls at the bottom. The top is still straight as a board but in the back it's all curly... especially when it's wet. I think it's so cute! This is the best picture I could get since she kept moving around.

11 months!

Well, Cali is 11 months old today! I can't believe that she'll be 1 in less than a month! This little lady has grown up so fast! She is standing, dancing, talking jibberish and having fun being our little drama queen. She has 7 teeth now with 1 more on the way.
We love having her in our lives and have enjoyed watching her grow up so far.

She wore these adorable shoes but they weren't in any of the pictures so I just had to take one of just the shoes. :)

Relaxing on Labor Day...

For Labor Day yesterday we went over to Lisa & Wade's new apartment. We had some burgers and then played some Guitar Hero, World Tour. Geoff and I have never played it before so it was pretty fun. Aedan plays the drums every time we go over there so that's where he wanted to be (they weren't actually on). We discovered though that he has some rhythm and kept the beat pretty good. We took turns playing the guitar, drums, bass, and singing.

Cali just roamed around mostly:

Here we are rockin out!

Aedan wanted to sing (he LOVES to sing!):

And here are close up shots of our "band"...

Christy on vocals:

Lisa on vocals:

Wade on drums:
We really think we're gonna make it big some day! :)

Once we sang/played a bunch of songs, we played "Star Wars Trivial Pursuit" and after a long game both of our teams were making their way to the middle with all of our pieces. Geoff and I got there first (barely!) and ended up winning. Yeah!! It was the most hilarious game of trivial pursuit I've ever played (and I've played that one before). Also, I think we were all pretty impressed with how much random knowledge Wade had about Star Wars. It was crazy!!

Pretty nails & closed eyes

This morning I was painting my toe nails and Cali came over to see what I was up to. So, I painted her tiny little finger nails for the 1st time. It is so cute and girly! This is the only picture I could get because she was moving her hands around so much...

So, lately every time I take a picture of Cali her eyes are closed! Sometimes it's just one eye but mostly it's both. I have no idea why. This is what I usually get now...

Luckily I did get a few with those big blues open wide this morning so here she is in her cute dress...

Aedan was being silly so I took a picture of him with his sorta silly face...

Crazy kid!

Last year we bought a huge blow up pool to put in our backyard (there's a blog with it sitting in our living room all blown up with Geoff & Aedan playing in it). Well, we filled it with water yesterday for Aedan to play in. Geoff stepped in the water and said it was freezing (It was straight from the hose)! It took Aedan a while to get all the way in but once he did he didn't want to get out. He had a whole pool all to himself (with Daddy of course) and he was in heaven splashing all over. I took some pictures and you can tell by Geoff's face how cold the water is because as Aedan is splashing he's getting Geoff in the face. I thought it was funny.

Rubber ducky, you're the one...

When Aedan was little (well, littler) we had this blow up duck that we'd bathe him in. He loved it and it made bath time so much fun for him! Well, once he got too big we deflated it and put it away and I forgot about it. Last Sunday I met a new friend and she mentioned that she bathed her son in a big blow up duck and I said "We have that too!" so it reminded me to get it out before Cali was too big for it and bathe her in that (SOOO much easier!!).
Little did I know that Aedan would totally remember the duck and think we got it out for HIM to bathe in. So, he was a little upset when Cali was the one who got to sit in it.

When Aedan saw the duck all blown up he jumped in it right away:

The kids in the bath... they love bath time!
